Winchester Legacy~College Years: Senior Year
RECAP: Gai was unlucky in love(no, seriously! She kept getting rejected!
) Actually, she was pretty unlucky in everything her whole junior year now that I think about it. She couldn’t find a date, she got rejected by an ugly dude at the gym and ended up washing dishes instead of working out and she burnt her food. AND the cow was all up in her face. Neil, on the other hand, met the girl of his dreams(or something like that) but not before getting into a fight with an ex. Chloe and Neil did the deed and then he got swooped up to get inducted into the Secret Society. And now, everything is coming to an end. It’s Senior year guys!!! And this update is for the person who commented on my formspring! Here’s hoping you lived to see this update!![]()
You know how you always hear cheesy sayings like: “When I looked into his/her eyes time just seemed to stand still.” or “Nothing else mattered because I was in his/her arms.”? Yeah, some of that stuff is real. Why else would I be out in the hot tub, in the cold, and not giving a crap? Because I was with Chloe that’s why. Hey, it’s Neil. I really haven’t had the time to sit down and talk to the photographer. Between school and spending time with my baby it’s been uber busy.
Anyways, Chloe and I had been dating for about a year now and everything was going great. I didn’t even care that once I got out of this hot tub I’d been freezing my nuts off. Nope, what matter was the here and-
“ExCUSE me! Are you guys going to hog the hot tub or what? Seriously! Don’t you two have anything else to do?” Monica stomped her feet but the sound was muffled by the snow.
Chloe and I shared a glance.
“Of course we have something better to do!”
“Oh my GOD that is so gross! You two are sick!”
I really wasn’t paying attention to Amy. She was still giving me the stank eye because of our break up but I know that she remembered we used to do the same thing in the hot tub. Granted it was mostly at night when everyone else was asleep but it was different with Chloe. I was freer, able to be me. I didn’t care what anyone thought.
So, I did something that I thought I’d never do. Sure, I had been looking for a serious relationship but I never thought that I would want to settle down straight out of college. But at this point and time I couldn’t imagine my life without Chloe. I just hoped she felt the same way.
Clearing my throat I got down on one knee. It was kinda awkward. I fell harder than I intended so Chloe whipped around thinking that I had slipped and I was trying to hide my wince of pain.
“Chloe, I-”
“Are you okay Neil? That had to hurt! Here, let me help you up.”
“No, it’s fine. Chloe, will you-”
“Put some ice on it? Sure, as soon as we get back to your room.”
“CHLOE!!”
“What?”
I dug around in my swim trunks for the box. It was kinda damp because I had slipped it into my pocket after we got out of the hot tub. Hopefully the ring hadn’t changed colors or anything. How embarrassing would that be? The guy at the shop had told me that it was real gold but ya never know right? And I had gotten a really good deal. Oh man! What if he’d given me a fake? She’d never-
“Neil? Are you okay? You’re sweating. I think-”
“Chloe, Iloveyouwillyoumarryme?”
Swallowing dryly, I fumbled with the box before successfully opening it. Even I was blinded by the light reflecting off the diamond.
“Oh my goodness Neil! Oh my goodness!!! AH!!!” She did this girlie move where she kinda ran in place before she nodded frantically. “YES!”
Letting out a sigh of relief I slipped the ring onto her finger and soon had my hands full of blubbering female. Behind Chloe’s back the photographer gave me the thumbs up sign.
After Chloe and I celebrated, you know what I mean, she headed to class. I didn’t have any classes until later so I headed upstairs and got on one of the computers. I surfed aimlessly at first before settling in and opening my email. Tapping my fingers on the keys I nervously bit my lip before clicking compose and entering in a recipient.
Dear Mom and Dane,
How are things with you guys? Good I hope. Senior year is pretty hectic. It’s crazier than I thought it would that’s for sure!
Ah well! No pain, no gain right? Umm…so, I just wanted to let you guys know that I’ve gotten engaged. I know mom, I know! You never even met the girl but she’s really sweet and she’s into her studies. Not at all like the girls you met when you visited before. Dean, give mom a hug for me because I know she’s probably crying and talking about ‘her baby’. I’ll call and talk to you guys later. Right now…well I think Gai and I are moving into our own place off campus. We’re Seniors! We’re gonna party!! LOL!! TTYL! Love ya!
A few days later Gai and I got a call. We were finally able to move into the place we’d been looking at. It was two separate houses but on the same lot. So we weren’t all in each others business but if I ran out of food I could always grab something out of Gai’s stocked fridge. What? I’m just saying! I gotta eat right? And Gai eats like a bird. If she doesn’t burn it that is! Yeah, I heard about that.
And why was I not surprised that the first phone call that I got was from mom. I had been avoiding the phone because I didn’t feel like listening to mom’s hysterics.
“What do you MEAN you’re engaged? You’re too young to be engaged! I don’t know this girl! Dane doesn’t know her either! Does Gai like her? Gai must not like her if she never talks about her when we talk. How could you do this? Was the ring pretty? Please tell me you got a decent ring? Are you happy? Oh Neil! I’m so happy for you! I love you!”
“I love you too mom.”

Awww, poor Neil
Maybe he can get with Gretchen?
Gai has the absolute weirdest taste in men. But to each their own, I suppose.
It was great seeing the Winchesters again!
