So anyways, the real reason Neil wanted to come downtown was to meet up with Stinker aka Melody Tinker. Why he thinks she’s so hot is a mystery to me. Maybe she’s easy. That could be it. But whatever. It’s no skin off my nose. If he wants to waste his time with her then more power to him. Just don’t expect me to play nice with her. There’s just something about her that rubbed me the wrong way. She’s always so sweet around Neil but the minute he steps away she’s back to glaring at me.

And…well, maybe I shouldn’t say anything. Neil seems to really like her and maybe she was just putting on a front with her friends since they think that Neil isn’t that attractive. And he’s not…but he’s my brother so I can say that. Those other girls can’t. And they won’t now. Not after I finished kicking their asses. See, sometimes I can be nice but I have a reputation to maintain. I can’t go around being a Ms. Goody-two shoes. Speaking of Ms. Goody-two shoes…

Look what she found! Haha! If she’s all sweetness and light how come she’s standing there talking to the bad witch huh?  Huh? I wish mom and dad could see that and then maybe they’d realize that she’s not as sweet as they think. The door to the hairdresser was pushed open as another customer came in  and I could hear Gai’s annoying, high pitch tones.

“Why are you sparkling? Why are you green? Why are you wearing that outfit? Where’s your broom? Why-”

The door shut thankfully blocking out her annoying questions. That girl could seriously ask a ton of questions and then wait for you to answer them all. She didn’t ask me any questions, of course. Not after that time I dunked her head in the toilet for asking me why I was kissing a picture of a certain boy at my school. Okay, so what I had a crush on someone that would probably never like me back. I’m alright with that but I still didn’t need other people to know.  Other people being annoying little sisters. Another customer came in and once again I could hear Gai’s voice.

“So, if you’re an evil witch where’s your familiar? I don’t see your familiar here!”

“She’s at the house.”

“Right, right.” I watched in amusement as Gai planted her hands on her hips and looked up at the lady…witch…whatever. You know, little sister had some guts after all didn’t she?

“So what kinda magic do you do?”

“The dark kind.”

An ominous tone had entered the lady’s voice and I stiffened.  Was she threatening my little sister?

“Keep the door open,” I yelled out as it started to close. Someone hurried to open it.

“Yeah, what kind?”

“The dark kind.”

“What’s so dark about it? Like, do you kill people?”

“No…but I make them wish that they were dead.” The witch did this horrible cackle and I brushed the hairdresser to the side as I got up from the chair and raced outside.

“Can I see your familiar?”

By the time I got outside the witch had waved her wand and her familiar had appeared. I guess she had gotten tired of Gai’s questions. I walked nonchalantly to the curb, as if I had just raced outside with a half finished hair do to check out the sights, before turning back around and walking back toward the salon. I could feel the witch’s eyes on me, as if she were sizing me up, before I walked back in and sat down at the chair.

“What was that all about?” my hair dresser asked.

“Nothing,” I said with a shrug. “Just…nothing.”
